Brisbane Valley Fish Stocking competition – Lake Manchester (11th May 2025)

May 11 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

A$50.00

Brisbane Valley Fish Stocking Association (BVA) has been stocking Lake Manchester for a long

number of years. Due to its inaccessible nature. There has been minimal fish tagging conducted.

BVSFA has partnered with Yak Hunters Queensland to hold a one-day event at the dam to assess the
fish stocking efforts.

Tag as many caught fish as possible.

As Lake Manchester is not a SIPS dam BVA must raise all funds for stocking efforts.

Also using anglers who are experienced in fish handling and measuring for any untagged fish to have
a measurement taken and recorded.

Any funds raised from the entry will go to purchasing fingerlings for Lake Manchester.
There will be social media promoting the Dam as a recreational area. (Noting a condition of last year
pictures of launching will not be shown).

After the success of this event in 2024. BVA would again like to host an event on Lake Manchester to
raise funds for fingerlings. At the 2024 event $1500 was raised towards the release of fingerlings. We
again would like this event to be our main source of funding for the event. Especially considering all
the recent rain and the larger bass going over the spillway.

As after last year will provide catch data to SEQ water and fisheries for their record keeping
Due to the larger kayaks used by allot of the members of Yak Hunters we expect to attend the use of
the boat ramp would be requested. As access to the dam either involves a very long hard walk. Or a
shorter very hard walk on a steep trail.

The event would start with a safety briefing. (this is standard at all Yak Hunters events).
What is to be expected outcomes of the day.

At the conclusion of the event a short ceremony and prizes. Escorting out of the participants. Clean
up of the site.

After the popularity and event area numbers have been raised to 50.

Note to competitors. The track to the event location is only suitable for 4WD especially if there has
been rain the exit from the ramp can be tricky.

Please remember to support our sponsors Charlton’s Fishing at Redbank and Heathen Lures.

Please mark it on the Calander and help raise funds for a good cause.

Prizes for:

-Largest bass
-Largest eel
-Most bass.
